David McGaffin

Our Chairman advises me that David McGaffin passed away at the weekend.

His daughter said that he passed away suddenly while watching TV at home on Saturday evening.

Joe Noble told me a while ago that David was Master of Ceremonies at Trades House of Glasgow, where he conducted these duties for Joe’s daughter’s wedding a few years ago.

I’m sure you would all join me in passing on best wishes to the family.

I will keep you advised of any news upon the arrangements.

David McGaffin

Murdo MacDonald & May Lombardi

I have just heard this morning that Murdo MacDonald has passed away.

I hear he was the 214 Highland dancing instructor back in the day.

Funeral details:- Thursday 5th February 10am at Harvey’s funeral parlour Anniesland Road there after at Dalnottar Crematorium, Clydebank.

Also

I received another email this morning from Angela Lombardi (Angelo’s daughter) advising that her mother May Lombardi has passed away at the Prince of Wales Hospice on 24th January. She apologises for the late notice of the funeral tomorrow.

Funeral details:- Tomorrow, Monday 2nd February 11am at Linn Crematorium there after No10 Hotel, 72 Queens Drive, Queens Park, Glasgow.

(Angelo now suffers from advanced dementia.)

I’m sure all Ex Members would join me in passing on our thoughts for both families at these sad times.

Douglas Elmslie Funeral details

Jim Elmslie, Dougie’s brother advises us of the funeral details.

Friday 23rd January,  9.00am at Daldowie Crematorium.

Jim feels it would be appropriate that ex-members who are able to attend wear their ex-members ties, as Douglas so often did with such great pride.
There is no one who was a greater ambassador for all that the 214 stands for than Douglas..

Unfortunately I will be unable to attend.

Sure and Stedfast
